This piece explores the visual conversation between image and text, where vibrant goldfish swim through a sea of typewritten words. Working with vintage imagery and letters I composed on an old typewriter, I was drawn to creating harmony through color and composition rather than narrative. The warm coral and peach tones unify disparate elements—the fish, the fragmented text, the layered papers—into a cohesive whole. There’s something playful about the randomness, the way meaning emerges not from what the words say, but from how they interact with the imagery. The goldfish feel both trapped and free, suspended in this constructed world of paper and paint.
